Module 5 — Becoming a Tarologist

Ethics, practice, and going professional

Reading for Yourself vs Others

Reading tarot for yourself is intimate. Reading for others is a different skill — and a responsibility. People come to a tarologist when they are vulnerable, confused, or hopeful. How you handle that moment matters.

The Tarologist's Ethics

  • Never predict death, illness or legal outcomes. The cards do not give that, and people's lives are not yours to forecast.
  • Empower, do not scare. Even difficult cards have constructive readings. Find them.
  • Respect privacy. What is said in a reading stays in the reading.
  • Refer when needed. If someone needs a doctor, lawyer or therapist, say so. Tarot is not a substitute.
  • Be honest. Don't soften everything to be liked, and don't exaggerate to seem powerful.

How to Hold Space

The reader's job is not just to interpret cards. It is to create a calm, non-judgmental space where the client can think out loud. Often the cards are the excuse, and the real value is being heard by someone wise.

Tips:

  • Ask the client what they want to focus on before drawing
  • Speak slowly. Pause. Let them respond.
  • Ask open questions: "What does this card bring up for you?"
  • Don't lecture. The reading is theirs, not yours.

Going Professional

If you decide to read for others as a service:

  • Practice first. Read for at least 50 friends before charging.
  • Set a fair price. Beginners: €15-30 per session. Experienced: €40-80. Specialists: €100+.
  • Build a presence. TikTok, Instagram and YouTube are where new tarologists are born today. Show your work.
  • Use the right tools. A good streaming setup, a clean profile, real testimonials.

Where Ayrora Pro Helps

If you choose to take this path professionally, the Pro Tarologist plan gives you the practical infrastructure: a fullscreen Streamer Mode for TikTok and YouTube, a transparent OBS overlay for live broadcasts, your own public profile page (/@username) to share with clients, all decks unlocked for variety, and reverse cards enabled.

Closing Thought

Tarot is one of the oldest tools humans have for sitting with mystery. It will not give you certainty — but it will give you a richer relationship with your own life, and the lives of those you serve.
